Bheeshma Ekadashi 🙏

It’s a day when Vishnu sahasthranaamam took birth:
The essence of Bhagvath Gita and vedas, unearthed;

Bheeshma pithamaha, the epitome of selflessness, righteousness and loyalty;
Who renounced the desires to live by his vow of celibacy;
Devoting his life at the service of the throne of Hasthinapura ;
With pious love and devotion surrendered to the Supreme Lord of Mathura ;

This man who mastered Dharma shasthras of life.
When lying on bed of arrows in strife;
With lord of death waiting for his permission;
Supreme granted him the boon of divine mission;
To slice with the sword of Knowledge, the materialistic myth;
For the Pandavas to realise the absolute truth;

The wisdom, austere Bheeshma gathered from various sages;
Were the one’s blessed with Supreme’s conscience since ages;
Thus he opened the divine treasure of wisdom;
The gateway to the heavenly Kingdom;
The sacred Thousand names of Lord Vishnu;
The spiritually enlightening qualities of Jishnu ;
Not just cleanses the body and soul;
Helps one to get to their salvation goal;
The Vishnusahasthranamam when meditated upon ;
The ambiguity and oblivion of life will be cleared by our Supreme scion.
